Our Polyurethane Spray Foams Product Portfolio

March & Martin offers Icynene-Lapolla and Demilec products for chemically blown, open-cell and closed-cell polyurethane foam. Closed-cell medium-density foam insulation is suitable for use in both exterior and interior applications while open-cell light-density foam insulation products are best suited for interior applications.

Both medium-density and light-density spray foam insulation can be used effectively in numerous building types, including both residential and commercial applications.  Our team can work with you to determine the best insulation product for your needs.

Open-Cell Insulation

Open-cell spray foam insulation has tiny cells which are not completely closed. Open-cell is usually less expensive because it is developed using fewer chemicals. Open-cell is superior as an air barrier, and is sponge-like in appearance. It is often used to insulate interior walls because it minimizes outdoor noise intrusion. It is not recommended for outdoor applications. The initial R-value for many of these foams is 3.7 per inch with aged R-value varying depending on the manufacturer.

Closed-Cell Insulation

Closed-cell spray foam insulation is a higher-density foam than open-cell. The structure of the actual cells are more compact. It is both an air barrier, water-resistive, and vapor barrier. Closed-cell can be installed anywhere in the home. Closed-cell insulation is typically used in colder climates. The initial R-value for many of these foams is 6.0 per inch with aged R-value varying depending on the manufacturer.

Exceptional design possibilities

Spray foam insulation allows for exceptional design possibilities, conforming to unusual design shapes and geometry. Plus, each spray foam insulation solution provides a continuous, protective insulating and air seal barrier that significantly reduces air leakage, minimizes airborne moisture transfer and optimizes energy efficiency.

Out-performs traditional insulation

In addition, spray foam insulation will out-perform traditional fiberglass insulation and rigid board in every way. Spray foam will continue to efficiently insulate, whereas traditional fiberglass sags and settles causing it to no longer perform at its original R-value.

Ideal for use in wood and steel framed construction, both Icynene-Lapolla’s and Demilec closed-cell spray foam insulation solutions are specially formulated to suit each project’s individual needs including use in continuous insulation applications.

Ease of installation

Spray foam insulation is quite convenient to install in a variety of situations. With spray foam, you can simply fill any gaps you have in your walls by spraying into them. In addition, spray foam can be installed in large or small amounts easily, making it great for fixing problems with your current insulation. In contrast, rigid foam can only be installed in an open, exposed wall.
